The State Of Things or A Little Update

Just wanted to keep everyone in the loop on what is happening thus far. So far I’m still working on the text adventure game and getting things ready to try out the Amazon exclusive program.

The reason for trying out Kindle Select and the unlimited service is two fold.

  1. Possibility of higher exposure: Can’t really hurt to try. I’ve got a lot of avenues with my name in them but things haven’t really been blowing up. I hope that by adding a work to the bigger pot that is Amazon, I can drum up some visitors. Maybe people who wouldn’t have found my work otherwise.
  2. I really like Kindle: I know that Amazon can be draconian at times and arbitrary but there is no denying the impact they have had in the self-publishing world. I have found some real winners thanks to kindle and honestly it is through them that a vast majority of sales happen. Sure the bubble has burst for the kindle market but that doesn’t mean success can’t be had, it just means you have to stand out from the crowd.

As for the text adventure, I am going to start giving that its own status update but for now just know the learning curve has been…fun? Yeah let’s say fun.

On a lighter note, here in a bit I’ll be posting up the first five pages of every Dead Letters book. I’ll be hosting the audio readings on Youtube and on my Goodreads account. (There is already some nice stuff on there if you are interested so head on over)

Also I’ve been posting up some good stuff about hard to find internet horrors to a site called Gruemonkey. I shed some light on a truly terrifying web series called The West Records. If you are a fan of lovecraftian horror, you owe it to yourself to check that out.

Stay frosty out there.
